NO HERO TPB Cover... in stores.

¡Hola a todos!


Antes de nada, perdonar por este largo silencio, supongo que cómo a vosotros, los compromisos laborales y familiares de estas fechas me han tenido completamente ocupado, I’m sorry my friends :)

Bueno, espero que estas navidades os hayan sido gratas, que el año comenzase bien y que Santa Claus o los Reyes Magos os hayan dejado infinidad de regalos. Por aquí, cómo os comento muy liado, en lo tocante al trabajo creo que bien y en lo personal… mal, bastante hecho polvo; por cierto y a colación de esto: Estamos buscando un pueblo TRANQUILO para mudarnos, se aceptan sugerencias :).

Para comenzar el año os informo que ya está en las librerías estadounidenses el libro recopilatorio del NO HERO, y para muestra aquí os dejo la portada del libro en su versión “tapa blanda”, ya me contaréis.

 Firstly, forgive this long silence, I guess how you, the work and family commitments this time I have been fully occupied, I'm sorry my friends:)


 Well, I hope to be happy this Christmas, the year started well and that Santa Claus or the Three Kings will have left countless gifts. At home, well bundled, with respect to work well and I think personally ... bad, pretty knackered, and certainly as collation of this: We are seeking a quiet village to move, accepting suggestions :).


 To start the year I reported that already in the U.S. bookstores the NO HERO compilation book, and shows here I leave the cover of the book in its "soft cover", I hope you enjoy it ;)

NO HERO, Dual Signed Hard Cover

  Ya está anunciada para el próximo 10 de enero la aparición del tomo integral y recopilatorio de NO HERO, hasta el momento mi última novela gráfica para Avatar Press, con guiones de Warren Ellis.
  Cómo sin duda sabréis algunos, en la editorial acostumbran a imprimir el mismo libro con varias portadas, la que hoy os muestro ilustrará la “Dual Signed Hard Cover”, una edición limitada firmada por Warren y por un servidor de ustedes.

  Ya me contáis que os parece.

  It's announced for the next January 10 the appearance in bookstores of the compilation volume of NO HERO, until the moment my last graphic novel  for Avatar Press, written by Warren Ellis.
  How undoubtedly you know, on the publishing house they are accustomed to print the same book with several covers, which today I show you will illustrate the 'Dual Signed Hard Cover ', a limited edition signed by Warren and me.

Tanto para el número final de Black Summer cómo para el de No Hero hemos hecho una portada “Zombie”, divertido el matar y pudrir a los súper-heroicos personajes de ambas sagas.

NO HERO #7 in stores!

Pues ya está en las librerías el NO HERO #7, a la sazón última entrega de la saga. Esto es todo amigos, se acabó lo que se daba. Por ahora la última de mis novelas gráficas para Avatar Press.

Sabor mas agrio que dulce me deja esta serie, no sé cómo explicarlo… y menos sin entrar en un jardín de qué seguro, no sabré salir.

Cómo siempre, ahí quedan unas paginetas, y pinchando AQUÍ veis otras ya terminadas, ya me contáis.



Already there is in the bookstores NO HERO #7, last issue of the series. This is all, friends, the story was ended. For the present the last one of my graphical novels for Avatar Press.

Flavor tarter than sweet leaves this tale me, do not be how to explain it … and less without entering a mess of what surely, I will not be able to go out.

Otra de las “Homage Covers” hechas para NO HERO, en esta ocasión la que lucirá el séptimo y último cómic-book de la saga.
Desde mi punto de vista una de las mejores. El reto: “meter” dentro de la particular anatomía del Spider-Man de McFarlane a nuestro Josh Carver, y ¿Qué hacer con las pegajosas telarañas de Spidey? Sin duda las protagonistas de la ilustración original.
A ver que os parecen mis “soluciones”.

Nota: Yo no escojo las portadas a homenajear, son Warren y/o el equipo de Avatar los encargados de elegirlas.

Another of the "Homage Covers" made for NO HERO, in this occasion the elected for the seventh and last comic-book.
In my opinio one of the best. The challenge: to put inside the particular anatomy of the Spider-Man created by McFarlane to our Josh Carver, and What to make with the sticky spider's webs of Spidey? Without a doubt the main characters of the original illustration.
What do you think of my " solutions "?

NO HERO #6 Homage Cover

Cómo ya os he contado, en NO HERO estamos llevando a cabo un experimento que consiste en versionar portadas de clásicos del cómic, adaptándolas a los personajes de nuestra serie.
Para el No Hero #6 le tocó el turno a esta increíble portada de The House of Secrets realizada por el no menos increíble Berni Wrightson allá por mediados de 1971, que cómo curiosidad os diré que no era la primera vez que se versionaba, ya que en 1985 John Totleben hizo su particular homenaje en The Saga of Swamp Thing # 33.

I told you previously that in NO HERO we are carrying out an experiment that consists on making homages to covers of classic of the comic-books, adapting them to the characters of our series.
For the No Hero #6 played him the shift to this incredible cover of The House of Secrets carried out by the no less incredible Berni Wrightson there for half-filled of 1971 that how curiosity I tell you that it is not the first version of this cover, since in 1985 John Totleben made his particular homage in The Saga of Swamp Thing #33.

NO HERO #6 to scene!

Hola, amigos!
En primer lugar, perdonad si no actualizo con la asiduidad acostumbrada, el motivo: el que imagináis: ¡Es verano!, y supongo que cualquiera prefiere estar en la playita, piscinita, terracita o chiringuito, antes que andar mirando este blog.
Por aquí seguimos en la brecha y se van agolpando un puñado de noticias y monigotes para bloguear, vamos a ello:

Hace alguna semana está en las librerías americanas el No Hero #6, penúltima entrega de la saga. Aquí os muestro algunos lápices y tintas, aún no recibí el tebeo impreso (ni el #5, ni el #3, ni…), luego no puedo mostrar las páginas a color, pero si queréis ver algo de lo terminado, pinchando aquí, podéis hacerlo, y para charlar con Warren Ellis de la serie y cuanto en ella acontece aquí. Ok?

In the first time, excuse me if I don't upgrade with the accustomed assiduity, the reason: the one that you think: It is summer!, and I suppose that anyone prefers to be in the beach, pool, pub or bar, before to be looking at this blog.
Here we continue in the my jail, working, and they go crowding together a handful of news and draws to put here, I go to it:

It has been in the American bookstores the No Hero #6, penultimate issue of the saga. Here I show you some pencils and inks, I didn't still receive the printed tebeo (neither the #5, neither the #3, neither…), then I cannot show the pages in color, but if you want to see something of that finished, pulsing here, you can see something, and to talk with Warren Ellis of the series and as much as in her it happens here. Ok?

No Hero #2 (pages 8 and 9)

No Hero #2, páginas 8 y 9: los Front Line de los setenta zurrando de lo lindo a todo un ejército de marines que andaban de excursión por la selva.
Lo curioso de esta doble splash es el cambio de color en los uniformes de los protas, blancos según el diseño original y, aún no sé el motivo, gris oscuro aquí.

No Hero #2, pages 8 and 9: the Seventies Front Liners hitting vigorously to an entire army of marines that were of trip for the jungle.
The curious of this double splash is the color change in the uniforms of the Front Line team, white in the original design and, I don't know the reason, gray dark here.

Sí, yo también hecho de menos más presencia femenina en No Hero, pero bueno, de la poca que hay, aquí os dejo la portada del NH#2 Operator NYCC, cuya “prota” es Operador (Mandy par los amigos). A ver que tal os parece.
Lastima que nos la cargásemos tan rápidamente…

NO HERO #5 on sale

Ya está disponible la quinta entrega de NO HERO, aún no he visto como ha quedado (yo tampoco Mr. Ellis), pero sí os puedo adelantar es que Josh Carber comienza a hacer sus pinitos como súper héroe de “altos vuelos”… y que si os perdéis por San Francisco, ahí os dejo un plano ;)

The fifth chapter of NO HERO is already for sale, I have not still seen as it has been (me neither Mr. Ellis), but yes I can to tell is that Josh Carver begins to make his first performances like a super hero of "high flights"… and that if you get lost in San Francisco, there I leave you a map ;)

No Hero, No Justice cover

Para este tipo de cosas creo que me es útil y (casi) necesario este blog.
Veréis, por una confusión en cuanto a formato en la “No Justice Ltd. Edition “ del No Hero #1 solo se publicó un fragmento de la ilustración realizada a tal fin. Y para no privaros de que la conozcáis completa… aquí la tenéis tal como salió de casa y como llegó a las librerías.

De todas las HOMENAGE COVER que hemos hecho para NO HERO, sin duda la más divertida hasta el momento ha sido la del #4. Cuando recibí el encargo del editor pidiendo una versión de esta portada de ZAP, inmediatamente respondí el correo: “Realmente adoro el trabajo de Robert Crumb, pero… ¿De verdad queréis esto?”.
“Sí, sí, por supuesto, y no te olvides del cable…”

Of all the HOMAGE COVER that we have made for NO HERO, without a doubt the most amusing until the moment has been that of the #4. When I received the editor's responsibility requesting a version of this cover of ZAP, immediately I responded the mail: "I really love the artwork of Robert Crumb. but… do you really want this"?. "Yes, yes, of course, and don't forget the cable…"

Y bueno, esto es lo conseguido: un Josh Carver “enchufado”. Sirva esta portada como modesto homenaje al rey del comic underground . Reverencias Señor Crumb.
